Esteemed Awards: Most Colorful and Most American
Updated: Mar 4, 2021

We’re toward the end of the legislative session, which means we’re busy, busy, busy!
SB 126 establish the crime of possession, manufacturing, or distribution of obscene dolls. Passed House Judiciary and has been placed on the House of Representatives consent calendar! I look forward to sharing more details on this important bill soon.
SCR 607 Affirming the Legislature's support of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Passed the Senate today and is on it’s way to the House of Representatives. I’m proud of my colleagues for standing beside me and standing up for our Constitution.
SB 151 to make a $5.8 million appropriation to provide for infrastructure to support Ellsworth Air Force Base and to declare an emergency. This bill was tabled on 3.2.2021. There are myths to address from some of our representatives bent on promulgating incorrect information for their own motivation… Due legislative process, quality debate, and fair hearings are part of what we do here in Pierre. We all know sometimes we will win and sometimes we will lose… This particular piece of legislation has been a litany of “what the heck” is going on behind the scenes. A bizarre situation for sure- exemplifying the need for local legislators who not only listen but are also literate.
And then…. Our interns held our “roast” last evening. I was given two awards, one for “Most Colorful” and one for “Most American.” I can live with that!
